Turning 65

So it has been awhile since I last posted.  A lot has been happening, and posting for some reason was not a priority.  So I chose today, my 65th birthday to get back in the swing of things and start posting again.  I guess I want those who follow me to know that I am NOT sitting around all day watching TV since my retirement in early December 2018.  True confession that I have been watching some TLC shows On Demand these days, but limit myself to one or two shows a day.

For those of you who are approaching retirement age and starting on Medicare......my pain is with you!  I am going back and forth with Medicare and my endocrinologist to try and figure out what brand of diabetes supplies are covered for FREE.  Doctor said to reach out to Medicare, and Medicare tells me the doctor need to call the Medicare Provider Line to find out.  The prescription is now at CVS with costs on all the items.  UGH!  What to do next?

My physical was scheduled the first week of May when Medicare went in to affect.  No proble7m at all here, however don't be surprised when you first go to your family doctor once on Medicare, they do all kinds of things!  An eye exam, EKG, and a memory test that I thought I was going to fail!  My EKG showed "irregularity" compared to one I had done 13 years ago.  With heart disease and heart attacks that were cause of death for both my parents, my doctor wanted a stress test done.

For three hours I was given an injection, waited, got a picture taken of the heart, waited, walked the treadmill faster than I even thought possible, got an injection, waited, and had a final picture taken before I could leave.  Relieved that the results came back normal.

Finally my doctor prescribed and xray and PT for a very sore shoulder I finally complained about.  Results came back that I have tendonitis and will be going to PT three times a week for 4-6 weeks!  WHEW!  Glad I am retired and can get there early in the morning to follow a very tough regime of exercises and manipulation.

So with several medical issues, the pain of the shoulder situation, I haven't been doing any sewing on my quilt.  With the 12th D & D Event June 1st, plans to return to quilting will now wait until the event is over.  I have been working on samples for a new card class and the last of the sampler class for the summer frame.

Quiet celebration for my birthday which is fine with me.  My fantastic husband surprised me a few weeks ago, telling me he wanted to take me to the Phillies game for my birthday.  We finally found seats for the June 23rd game.  Thanks boy!  I am so excited to count the days down until we go!

So even though crafting is at a minimum right now, I leave you with this cartoon!
